Parks Maintenance Worker
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Mow and Trim
Lawn mowing and weed whacking of all areas every 3-5 days according to the discretion of the Parks Maintenance Supervisor. Areas include Public Parks, Baseball Fields, Township Office and Township Fire House.
Restrooms
Daily inspection and thorough cleaning of Londonderry Park’s public restrooms including portable rental units brought in for separate events.
Trash
Dispose of trash throughout Londonderry Park 2-3 times per week. Wash out trash receptacles as needed.
Pavilions
Londonderry Parks feature pavilions that need inspected and cleaned daily. Picnic tables within the pavilion will also need inspection for potential repairs to maintain safe conditions.
Playground Equipment
Weekly checks and bi-monthly inspections of all playground equipment. Weeding and mulching of wood carpet as needed.
Flower Beds
Plant, mulch and weed as needed.
Trees and Shrubs
Hedge Trimming and pruning to maintain a safe and attractive appearance. Removing storm damaged limbs and debris as soon as possible after a storm.
Service Equipment
Maintain mowers, trimmers and blowers to manufacturer recommendations.
Walking Trail Maintenance
Removal of branches and debris from overhead and sides of trails, twice per week and after every storm.
Painting
Throughout parks as needed.
Job Requirements
- Ability to perform moderate amount of physical labor, including
- Operating power weed whackers
- Power hand tools
- Shoveling
- Raking
- Sweeping
- Standing on and moving ladders
- Bending to pull weeds
- Lifting 50 pounds
- Available to work broken shifts and scheduled weekends.
- Scheduled starting time may change due to weather conditions and scheduled pavilion rentals.
- Driver’s License Required (minimum Class C)
