Our Public Works Team

Londonderry Townships Public Works Department consists of The Public Works Director, Public Works Foreman, 3 full time crew members, and one part time crew member. This team of six is responsible for maintaining 43 miles of Township owned roads, as well as the Sunset Park, Braeburn Park.

 Maintenance of Township roads is completed in Four different categories. The first, and most direct impact, is physical improvement. This includes asphalt repairs, storm sewer pipe maintenance, and roadside gutter cleaning. Second is hazard mitigation, designed to prevent obstacles from impeding the roadway, this would include all tasks relating to roadside mowing and tree trimming. The third category is maintenance and installation of traffic control devices. This consists of street signs, as well as traffic signals within the Township. Finally, Public Works is available 24/7 for public safety responses related to all Township Roadways. This includes roads that are flooded due to storms, or obstacles in the roadway that block the flow of traffic. While road maintenance is performed year-round, during the winter months, the Public Works Department adds the responsibility of treating all township roads as well as an extra 24 miles of state-owned roads within the Township. The only roads not included in winter the maintenance responsibility of salting and snow plowing are Rt 283, Vine St, Toll House Rd and the Pa Turnpike.
